Uniform Regulations

UNIFORM FOR FISH HOEK HIGH SCHOOL- REGULATIONS

 

SUMMER UNIFORM

 

Girls:

  • Official short or long sleeved glad-neck white button-up blouse not tucked in, tartan strip on top of pocket.
  • Official tartan skirt. Must be worn no higher than a palm-width above the knee and may not be rolled.
  • White short socks.
  • Black lace up or baby doll school shoes, polished, not suede or tackies

 

Boys:

  • Official short or long sleeve shirt, not tucked in, hip length with slits and tartan on top of pocket.
  • Grey shorts or long trousers with a black belt with neutral buckle.
  • Grey socks.
  • Polished black school shoes (not tackies or suede), without buckles.

 

WINTER UNIFORM

 

Girls:

  • Official short or long sleeved glad-neck white button-up blouse not tucked in, tartan strip on top of pocket.
  • Official tartan skirt. Must be worn no higher than a palm-width above the knee and may not be rolled.
  • Black stockings (with skirt only).
  • Tailored charcoal hipsters (with black socks).
  • Black lace up or baby doll school shoes, not suede or tackies

 

Boys:

  • Official short or long sleeve shirt, not tucked in, hip length with slits and tartan on top of pocket.
  • Long grey trousers with a black belt with neutral buckle.
  • Grey socks.
  • Polished black school shoes (not tackies or suede), without buckles.

 

Blazer Official cherry red blazer is to be worn by all pupils in Grades 10 - 12 only (throughout the year, to and from school and to all formal functions).

Jersey Official black sleeveless or long sleeve with an embroidered badge. The matrics may elect to use an approved alternate jersey.

Tie        The matrics may elect to wear a tie of an approved design. The tie may only be worn with a plain white lounge shirt, tucked in.

Fleecy tops with an embroidered school badge may only be worn to School by Grade 8 and 9 pupils. The fleecy may only be worn by Grade 10-12s to extra-mural activities.

Scarf    The official tartan scarf may only be worn in winter.

Beanie An official black beanie (embroidered with FHHS) may only be worn in winter. Beanies may only be worn to and from School. They may not be worn at school.

Rain-jacket. Pupils are encouraged to wear the official rain-jacket but other jackets may also be worn.  Like the beanie, rain-jackets may only be used to and from school.

 

Notes   1. The shirts, although un-tucked, may not be seen to extend below the fleecy or jersey when worn with those garments.

              2. The collars of the boys' shirts must be worn inside the blazer for all grades but the collars of the girls' blouses must be worn outside the blazer.

              3. Girls' blouses must be buttoned up to the glad-neck section.

              4. The blazer may only be worn by Grade 8 and 9 pupils who have been awarded Colours.

 

SPORT

 

The official tracksuit is black with red piping. In appropriate circumstances the tracksuit pants may be worn with other uniform items, such as the fleecy top, sports shirt, rain jacket, blazer or an approved team-specific top.

 

 

Phasing in period:

 

All 2012 Grade 8 and 9 pupils, as well as any new pupil to the school, must be in the full new uniform by the start of the 2012 school year.

 

All other pupils must be in the entire new uniform by the start of the 2013 school year.

 

Please note that no mixing of the old and new school uniform will be permitted in Grades 10 -12. The only exceptions to this are:

  • the school's new black short or long sleeved jersey is permissible with the old uniform.
  • No girls may wear black trousers of any description other than the new charcoal hipsters. Girls may still wear the old grey trousers in their phase out year.
  • Grade 10-12 pupils may wear the old winter uniform in the fourth term and in the summer months of 2012, if they have outgrown the summer uniform and are not yet in a position to purchase the new uniform. This is to be worn with white socks.
