Background
The school is a public and a community school. It has therefore identified the Primary Catchment Area for which it is the closest high school and a broader community from which it will consider further applications (Secondary Catchment Area).
Based, inter alia, on the post provisioning of the Western Cape Education Department, total number of teachers, classrooms and other facilities in the school, and the choice of subjects offered - and subject to the provisions of the SA Schools Act (84 of 1996) and the Western Cape Provincial Schools Act (12 of 1997) and WCED Circular 40 of 2004 - the School Governing Body intends to admit up to 231 pupils in grade 8 (i.e. 7 classes of 33 pupils).
General requirements:
Primary Catchment Area
1. The area stretches from Dalebrook Road, Kalk Bay to Chapmans Peak Drive (Noordhoek) summit lookout, to Lekkerwater Road, Sunnydale and Hopkirk Way Road, Glencairn.
2. Pupils whose parents are residents in this zone will be given preference provided that:
a. Their age is within two years of the average of the grade.

c. The complete application is received by the closing date, e.g. the first Friday of March.
d. They are not perceived, on the basis of their behavioural record, to be a threat to the School’s good order.
Secondary Catchment Area
1. Pupils whose parents are residents in the southern Peninsula (south of Atlantic and Camp Roads, Muizenberg, south of Noordhoek and of Sunnydale and Hopkirk Way, Glencairn) can also be considered for admission to FHHS.

e. Preference will be given to those for whom Fish Hoek is the closest academically suitable school, in terms of the language offerings and age.
f. Note: If FHHS is not the closest high school to the applicant’s residence (i.e. they live outside the Primary Catchment Area) parents and guardians are advised to apply to other schools in addition to FHHS.

Parents/guardians are also invited to provide a short motivation in support the application.
